About this Programmeme
This 12 Month MSc Accounting and Finance programmeme was developed in consultation with The University of Gold Coast (UGC), Accra Business School provides academic direction while UGC awards the qualification.
The programmeme is suited for anyone wishing to deepen their knowledge of accounting and finance, and who wants to enter a career in financial markets or advisory/financial services, either as an analyst, as a professional accountant, or as preparation for further research at PhD level. The programmeme curriculum will provide a blend of theoretical, research and practice-led content. This will enable students to develop deeper conceptual and theoretically informed perspectives of accounting and financial practices with acknowledgment of the role of information systems in those processes.
The programmeme is delivered by experienced academic and professional staff with international research profiles and provides students with a route to full membership to the Institute of Financial Accountants, UK.

PROGRAMME CONTENT

The MSc in Accounting & Finance provides a deep dive into core areas such as financial management, corporate reporting, and strategic management accounting. Tax & Business Strategy
This module explores the integration of taxation into business strategy, providing students with practical knowledge of tax planning and its role in corporate decision-making. Students will analyze how tax laws and regulations influence business operations and strategies, equipping them to align tax considerations with broader organizational goals. Ethical implications of tax strategies are also examined.

Financial Management
This module covers the principles and practices of financial management, focusing on decision-making in areas such as capital budgeting, working capital management, and financial forecasting. Students will learn to evaluate financial strategies, manage corporate finances effectively, and apply financial tools to solve real-world problems.

Accounting Theory & Practice
This module provides a comprehensive overview of accounting theories and their application in practice. Financial Econometrics
This module introduces students to econometric techniques used in financial analysis. Corporate Strategy, Ethics & Governance

International Auditing and Assurance
This module explores the principles and practices of auditing and assurance in an international context. Research Techniques in Accounting and Finance

Financial Markets & Institutions

Derivatives Securities
This module introduces students to derivative securities such as options, futures, and swaps. Students will learn to value and use these instruments for hedging, speculation, and arbitrage. Corporate Reporting
This module focuses on the preparation and analysis of corporate financial statements. The course emphasizes the importance of transparency and accountability in corporate reporting.

International Finance
This module examines the financial management of multinational corporations. Students will learn about foreign exchange markets, international capital budgeting, and global financial risk management. The course prepares students to make informed financial decisions in a globalized business environment.

Enterprise Risk Management
This module provides students with a comprehensive understanding of risk management frameworks and strategies. Students will learn to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across various organizational functions, equipping them to enhance organizational resilience and performance.

Investment Analysis
This module covers the principles and techniques of investment analysis, focusing on portfolio management, asset valuation, and risk-return trade-offs. Students will gain practical skills in evaluating investment opportunities and designing investment strategies that align with financial objectives.

ADMISSION / ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Admission requirements for students to enroll on the MSc Accounting & Finance programmeme through this route can be any of the following:
1. A good first degree with part 1 or 2 qualified or fully qualified certificate of the ACCA, CIMA, ICAG, ICAEW, CPA, CFA or similar accounting and finance professional qualification.
2. Holders of a good first degree in BSc Administration (Accounting option); Bachelor of Business Administration (Banking & Finance option); Bachelor of Commerce from a recognized University.
3. Holders of any Accounting undergraduate degree that is assessed to be acceptable by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission – GTEC of Ghana, e.g. Bachelor of Art Administration (Accounting & Economics, Mathematics with Accounting).

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
For entry into the MSc. Accounting & Finance Course, Applicants should provide the following documents
● Copy of Original University certificate 
● Copy of Original Transcript
● Copy of any National ID card e.g. Passport, Voter ID etc
● Current CV showing at least 2 years working experience.
● Two passport photographs

FEES AND START DATE

FEES: 26,000 GHS

Monthly Payment Plan :

Pay GHc 2,900 to start and GHc 2,100 every month.

Quaterly Payment Plan:
First Quarter – GHc 8,700

Second Quarter – GHc 8,700

Third Quarter – GHc 7,300

Upfront Payment Plan: Make an upfront payment of Ghc26,000 and enjoy a 10% discount
